Description
VS1 – Vertical Turbine Pump
-
Bowl assembly with a mixed or radial flow impeller.
-
Suction bell at the bottom, column pipe with line shaft bearings.
-
Driver (motor or turbine) mounted on top.
-
Use: Cooling water, seawater intake, circulating water.
VS2 – Barrel Pump (Diffuser Casing)
-
Multistage pump enclosed in a pressure barrel.
-
Radial diffuser type bowl assembly.
-
Use: High-pressure, high-temperature applications (boiler feed, hydrocarbons).
VS3 – Barrel Pump (Volute Casing)
-
Similar to VS2 but with volute-type casing instead of diffuser.
-
Typically shorter shaft, enclosed in a barrel.
-
Use: Boiler feedwater, hydrocarbons, petrochemical services.
VS4 – Vertical Cantilever Pump
-
Shaft suspended without line-shaft bearings (overhung design).
-
Bearing only in the driver and casing cover.
-
Use: Sumps, wastewater, chemical drains, where long shafts aren’t required.
VS5 – Vertical Tank Pump
-
Similar to VS4 but mounted in a tank or closed vessel.
-
Open impeller with cantilever shaft.
-
Use: Petrochemicals, chemical services, tank bottoms.
VS6 – Barrel Multistage Pump (Diffuser Type)
-
Long, multistage, diffuser-type bowl assembly inside a barrel.
-
Designed for very high pressure.
-
Use: Pipeline, boiler feed, refinery high-pressure systems.
VS7 – Vertical Axial Flow Pump
-
Axial-flow (propeller type) impeller.
-
High flow, low head.
-
Use: Flood control, cooling water, large water circulation.
